OUR TEACHING METHOD
Every Ms Tabby's Math lesson follows a proven four-step structure that builds deep mathematical understanding. Developed by our founder with over 19 years of classroom experience.
Logic — Every lesson begins with conceptual understanding. We use bar models, visual tools, and concrete examples so your child understands WHY a method works.
In practice: Before teaching any procedure, we ask: Does this make sense to you?
Equation — Once the logic is understood, students learn to express it mathematically. We build the equation fluency needed to tackle high-weightage PSLE problems and advanced algebraic expressions.
Application — Scaffolded practice moves from guided to independent. Carefully sequenced questions that increase in difficulty.
Patterns — The highest level of mathematical thinking: recognising patterns across topics. The secret to conquering non-routine Paper 2 questions and securing an AL1.
OUR FOUNDER
As ex-MOE specialists, we bring deep insights from the heart of Singapore's education system. We don't just focus on academic results; we are dedicated to grooming students from a holistic standpoint, building resilience and character alongside mathematical mastery.
As a former MOE Head of Department and Year Head with experience at MOE Headquarters, I have seen firsthand where students struggle. But my journey into education actually began with a global lens—teaching international students from around the world. Immersing myself in their diverse cultures and seeing them thrive in our local school system sparked a deep passion for teaching that has stayed with me ever since.
While I valued my time in the service, life eventually required me to prioritise family matters that needed my full presence. Seeking a way to continue serving students with the flexibility my family needed, I decided to branch out and start my own classes. This allowed me to create Ms Tabby's Math—a place where we groom students from a holistic standpoint, focusing on character, resilience, and real-life application. We help our students see beyond the textbook by showing them exactly how math is applied in real-life scenarios, turning abstract concepts into practical, lifelong skills.
